Aden Container Terminal (ACT)
is the hub of choice in the Middle East, with
strong support from major shipping lines.
Our major customers include APL, Pacific
International Lines (PIL), ICFS, and others.
ACT is the cornerstone of the
Aden Free Zone. In 2002, ACT achieved a throughput
of 388,450 Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs).
ACT, which is being developed
in three phases, received its first container
vessels on 19 March 1999. When fully completed,
ACT will have 1,650m of quay length and provide
capacity of an annual throughput of more than
1.5 million TEUs.
ACT's
quay cranes are equipped with 40-tonne lifting
capacity and 18-row across operations. And
in anticipation of further throughput growth
and new shipping lines calling at ACT, a fifth
ship-to-shore gantry quay crane was commissioned
on 1 June 2002.

Experience That
Counts
OPM is made up of a group of former
exective directors and high caliber professionals
hailing from the Port of Singapore's Corporate
Division, Singapore Terminals Division and
International Business Division.
They contributed from the inception of container
operations in the 70s culminating in the
introduction of Automated Guided Vehicles
in the 90s, the development from a single
terminal to four terminals in Singapore
and ten terminals overseas and from mega-
transshipment hub to main country gateways.
The defining advantage with such a formidable
team is succinctly encapsulated in our tagline
"experience that counts".
